Catholic Social Services Training and Support

Project Description:

Catholic Social Services (CSS) will contract with the UAA Center for Human Development (CHD) Alaska Training Cooperative (AKTC) to coordinate training for CSS staff. CSS operates three shelters for individuals and households experiencing homelessness, the shelters serve approximately 250 people daily and employ 50-60 direct service staff across all shifts and shelters. CSS also employs approximately 60 case managers and other client support staff who work with individuals experiencing homelessness and refugees. Some of the staff are new to the field of social work and/or working with the homeless or refugee population. CSS wishes to implement a training series to onboard staff to the work and their workplace and to engage the AKTC to provide ongoing professional development for frontline staff. Nine training opportunities will be provided/offered to a possible 100 unduplicated participants between October 15, 2023 - June 30, 2024, and will be delivered online and/or face-to-face as allowable.
