Center:
Fiscal Year:
2024
Contact Information:
Project Description:
To increase availability of training and support to public safety professionals and emergency responders including healthcare providers, disaster relief workers, police, fire, and EMS. In 2019, 27 public safety individuals were trained in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) for Public Safety to deliver at least three trainings over the year to colleagues. To help ensure continuity of this training, we will provide additional training for first responder agencies, law enforcement, fire and EMS, regional emergency planning committees, and other emergency responders who utilize these trainers to train their personnel to include clinic and hospital personnel, community health aides and Village Safety Officers. The training opportunities will include MHFA and will also focus on supportive content for emergency responders of all types across the state of Alaska.
