Project Description:
The following project will determine the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary effectiveness of an online, self-guided acceptance and commitment training program for individuals with chronic health conditions titled, "ACT Guide for Individuals with Chronic Health Conditions." Dr. Ty B. Aller of the Institute for Disability, Research, Policy and Practice, in collaboration with Dr. Michael E. Levin of the Department of Psychology at Utah State University will complete the following activities as part of the Interagency Outreach Training Initiative (2023-2024): • Develop an online, self-guided Acceptance and Commitment Training program for Individuals with Chronic Health Conditions. • Provide intensive training (research assistantship) for one graduate student related to chronic health conditions and disabling conditions in the project year. • Pilot the training program with a minimum of 50 individuals experiencing a chronic health condition. • Provide access to the training program for on-going usage and dissemination following the project end date.
