Fiscal Year:
2024

Project Description:
The Family Employment Awareness Training (FEAT) is an evidence-based training that was developed in Kansas in 2010 (Gross, Francis, & Pijem, 2015) and has been implemented across multiple states (Kansas since 2010, Rhode Island since 2014, Nebraska since 2018, and Oklahoma and northeastern Indiana since 2019). Delivery of FEAT within a state involves adapting the curriculum to be state-specific, including identifying successful supported and customized employment examples within the rural, suburban, and urban communities across the state in which it is implemented. Each state FEAT team locates stories of successful employment across their state in urban, suburban, and rural regions that highlight the varied types of employment and adapts the core curriculum components regarding services and resources to reflect the offerings and eligibility criteria within their own state, updating the cont ent continually to ensure that it reflects currently available information and resources. For this project, the Center on Community Living and Careers (CCLC) at Indiana University will provide training and technical assistance to the Chinese American Planning Council and People, Inc. (two contractors of the New York Developmental Disability Council) in the implementation and delivery of the Family Employment Awareness Training (FEAT) in their respective communities. CCLC will complete the tasks on the attached FEAT Implementation Activities by Year: Three-year Scope of Work.
