Project Description:
Background and Purpose:
The LifeCourse Nexus is the National Training and Technical Assistance Center connecting and equipping people and organizations to use the Charting the LifeCourse framework for planning, problem-solving, and decision making. CtLC is a framework and way of thinking, articulated through educational resources and interactive tools, that can been woven into existing practices to support people, families, and organizations in practices that align with these values.
Circle of Support hosted an initial exploration of Charting the LifeCourse with staff and stakeholders, including a full day in person training and a half day technical assistance/strategic brainstorming session. As a result of this exploration phase, in which staff and stakeholders gained additional understanding of the framework and tools and how they can be applied to their day to day work, Circle of Support has
requested ongoing support for implementation of the identified ideas. The organization is interested in building the awareness and skills of their direct support professionals in utilizing CtLC in supporting individuals, as well as in receiving coaching for integrating CtLC into assessment, quality management and HR practices.
Proposal:
As a result of the proposed activities (detailed below), Circle of Support will receive:
• 2 virtual Skill Building Workshop series (offered at differing times, to be coordinated with Circle of Support leadership) for staff of the organization to learn to use CtLC in their day to day work
• Up to 20 hours of technical assistance/process consulting/implementation coaching, to be used to support Circle of Support Leadership to:
o enhance the current assessment process and tools
o develop and disseminate a satisfaction/quality outcomes survey
o identify strategies for supporting staff in developing their own person-centered career growth portfolio
• A newly developed (co-developed) portfolio for employees to use in pursuit of their "good career" at Circle of Support
