Advancing & Accelerating Maternal and Child Oral Health Equity in Missouri

        Project Description:
In partnership with the UMKC School of Dentistry, UMKC-IHD will conduct a needs assessment that results in a design of an intervention aimed at improving oral health equity for Maternal and Child Health populations. The needs assessment will focus on three major activities: 1) Form a bi-monthly advisory group to guide the implementation of the assessment and future directions 2) gather input from mothers with lived experience and service providers on current/future oral health needs as well as policy solutions through surveys and idea mapping sessions, a proven approach that incorporates the voices of diverse individuals in intervention planning 3) use an iterative process to identify gaps, barriers, and finalize an initial design for a community-based intervention.
