Human Services Research Institute (DHHS) Subcontract
Project Description:
The Human Services Research Institute has been contracted by the Utah Department of Health and Services to evaluate the status of Long Term Supports and Services (LTSS) in the state of Utah, perform research on specific topics to improve LTSS in Utah, and provide recommendations. Priority of research and evaluation topics include: (1) People being a part of their community; (2) Supporting people and families so that people can live where they want; (3) Relying less on institutions (4) People working in their community; (5) Prioritizing person-centered thinking and care; (6) Addressing direct care staff shortages; (7) Expanding home and community-based services to more people; (8) Expanding service provider networks; (9) Different ways of providing services; (10) Increasing access to services for people living in rural places; and (11) Making sure resources are spread fairly (how much services people receive, how much providers are paid for different services).
