Disparities in Health by race and ethnicity: A focus on disparities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Project Description:
The goals of this project are to understand the trends in preventive health care use in Medicaid recipients with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) in the most recent 5-year span of data. We would like to understand these trends by race, ethnicity, gender identity, and geographical location. The assessment of trends will allow us to identify any specific preventive services to observe and further explore disparities that exist. The focus of this project is on preventive health measures, which include general health examinations, screenings (such as mammography and colonoscopy), and gynecological services such as a pap smear.
