Project Description:
The Conner Training Connections mission is to support Iowans with disabilities to live as fully participating members of their communities through the provision of training resources and technical assistance to consumers, family members, service providers, and advocates. The project funds Community Living Transition Grants. Awarded annually, these grants fund the placement of Glenwood and Woodward Resource Center residents into community-based settings. Staff works with Money Follows the Person transition specialists to determine services and supports to be funded. The Training Connection publishes Possibilities, a quarterly newsletter describing the successful transitions of Money Follows the Person participants and featuring listings from the Disability Resource Library. It also publicizes the latest disability-related activities through its website: www.disabilitytraining.org.
