Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for Behavioral Health
Project Description:
Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for Behavioral Health (MTSS-B) is a systemic, data-driven behavioral support and improvement process that consists of three elements, each specifically designed to prevent disruption and address the behavioral support needs of students at risk of school failure. Approximately 1 in 5 children have an emotional issue at some point, and 5% have a significant mental health disorder. These children and youth tend to be subjected to punitive discipline including suspension and other types of exclusionary discipline.
The goals of the IOD consultation is to:
1. Decrease behavior problems in schools.
2. Establish a multi-tiered system of positive social/emotional supports in schools.
3. Improve school climate and culture.
