Project Description:
This project will expand the capacity of the public health workforce in the state to meet the needs of persons with disabilities through pre-service and in-service activities. The project will increase the capacity of graduate programs in public health to provide courses and coursework on disability and public health through on-going technical assistance and training, and development of an online module. The project will also increase the capacity of local health departments in the state to meet the needs of persons with disabilities by conducting a survey of local health directors and providing follow-up technical assistance and training. Additional community trainings and workshops on integrating disability into public health education, partnering with disability organizations, and making accessible content will be provided.
