In collaboration with 10 other states and led by Georgetown University, the goal of AZ's COP is to increase the number, diversity, and capacity of formal and informal leaders to transform their state/territorial developmental disabilities systems by: 1) Advancing and sustaining cultural and linguistic competence through values, policy, structures, and practices and 2) Responding effectively to the growing cultural and linguistic diversity among people with DD and their families in their states. Building on this work, the state's team evolved to the CLC and Refugees with Disabilities Roundtable group focused on building capacity to improve accessibility of information, resources, and services including plain language and language translations, staff trainings, and service access.
