Project Description:
Unemployment is high for people with ID/DD and other disabilities in Arizona. The Employment First Arizona Initiative is a Statewide coalition that has developed an employment first strategic plan, with updated goals/objectives, and continues to engage stakeholders to move towards employment first policies and practices in the State. Expected benefits are the increase in employment for people with ID/DD and other disabilities. Project activities include demonstrations of direct service best practices, professional development and training of direct service personnel, research focused on identifying needs and outcomes, and stories illustrating the successes and journeys to get there.
