ACS NADSP Training video production on Code of Ethics, Informed Decision Making, and Supporting LGBTQIA+ People with IDD
Project Description:
Objective is producing three 90-minute instructional videos for the California Department of Developmental Services on the topics of the direct support professionals' code of ethics, supported decision-making, and DSPs supporting persons with disabilities who identify as LGBTQIA+. The videos will be used to train DSPs in the state of California to better support their work with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The goal and expected benefit is DSPS will become more competent and ethical in their work and the people supported will receive better supports, and will have greater voice in how supports are provided. The content of the videos is based on the work of the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals. Videos are captioned, subtitled in Spanish, and include ASL interpretation.
