4.2 Affiliated Faculty Research (Yang)
Project Description:
Research conducted by Affiliated Faculty -- associated with UCEDD (CDD) 5-Year Plan and Goals.
The CDD is also strong in the Core Function of Research & Evaluation, due to collaborations with the Texas A&M Faculty and Staff within the College of Education and beyond. Three areas in which the CDD affiliated faculty contributed to the community this fiscal year included: (1) Coaching parents and teachers in best practices for students with autism, (2) Supporting the transition of individuals with disabilities to work, independent living, and community inclusion, and (3) Emergency Preparedness.
FY 2024 Highlights:
* The CDD affiliated faculty published 53 peer-reviewed articles in scholarly journals, 8 reports, 2 book chapters.
* The CDD core staff and affiliated faculty presented 115 times at various professional conferences and training sessions.
Center Faculty/Affiliated Faculty Receiving New Grants:
Dr. Dalun Zhang (PI) received $ 2,106, 920 for the 2-year PATHS Program.
Dr. Dalun Zhang (PI) received $1,099,633 for the Texas Beacons of Excellence project (subcontract).
Dr. Meagan Orsag (PI) amended the contract and increased funding to $9,578,500 to expand the work of the iGROW rural pre-employment training project across Texas
Dr. Laci Watkins (PI) received $1,109, 162 for Project SUCCESS: Supporting Underrepresented Children through Community, Equity-based instruction, and School-based Supervision of teachers Personnel Development to Improve Services and Results for Children with Disabilities
Dr. Wen-Hsuan Chang (PI) received $30,000 for Unraveling Emotions and Adaptive Stages for Families of Youth with Disabilities
