Internal Project # 1000320-908; previous PI - Jim Thompson; NCE
Researchers from the University of Kansas, in collaboration with the University of North Carolina - Charlotte, will conduct a Goal 2 Development and Innovation Study to meet the stated purpose of the IES Special Education Research Program on Professional Development for Teachers and School-based Service Providers to support "research that contributes to the identification of effective strategies for improving the knowledge and skills of teachers and school based service providers (e.g., related services providers) in ways that improve the educational outcomes of students who are at risk for disabilities from kindergarten through Grade 12." This project will contribute to IESs long-term goal of developing an array of tools and strategies (e.g., assessment tools, programs, teacher supports) that have been demonstrated to be effective for improving and assessing the performance of teachers and school-based service providers in ways that are linked to improvements in student outcomes.
