Project Description:
NIH NCATS KL-2 Grant (June 30, 2021- May 31, 2021)
Congratulations to the Shriver Centers own Sohye Kim, PhD on her recent KL2 grant award from the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS), a division of the National Institute of Health (NIH).
The multi-year award focuses on developing innovative neuroimaging techniques to study the infants developing social brain, a research area of interest to Dr. Kim throughout her professional career.
The study will contribute to efforts to detect early differences and deficits in the developing social brain in the first year of life, and will provide a window into the earliest years of social brain development that have thus far remained inaccessible to investigation in humans.
Her work on this project will particularly emphasize individuals who identify as racial and ethnic minorities, and the project has an international reach.
