Project Description:
This project intends to expand and enhance career opportunities that align with the unique strengths and needs of students with IDD in earning industry recognized credentials (IRCs) as an additional approach. The goals of this project are to improve and expand positive employment outcomes for students with IDD at Ohio State and prepare for piloting strategies for IRC implementation and apprenticeship development at additional OSC schools beyond the life of the project. Ohio state will serve over 40 students during this grant project and will: 1. Build an IRC and Apprenticeship Menu for current and potential IPSE programs with existing and new IRCs and Apprenticeships; 2. Develop qualified workers for Ohio's workforce; and 3. Synthesize findings and disseminate products, resources, and strategies for model replication and sustainability across educational settings.
