The State of Developmental Monitoring, Screening, and Evaluation in Washington, DC
Project Description:
Early diagnosis of DD increases access to early intervention services and significantly improves patients' outcomes. Despite best practice recommendations for developmental monitoring and screening, as well as overall increases in these practices, many children are still not diagnosed with DD such as autism spectrum disorder until they reach school age. The objective is to understand processes that organizations in Washington DC use for M.S.E, including strengths and weaknesses, to clarify areas of need and opportunities for growth. Results are expected to illustrate current practices in different types of organizations and areas of need in relation to technical support and education. Training efforts will be targeted to specific organizations based on the answers provided.
