Project Description:

1. There is a need to find a medication that can directly treat autism symptoms, at the moment no medication exists that is created for specifically autism. 2. Overall goal and objective is to find out if AB-2004 shows improvement in autistic behaviors like irritability and anxiety. Get a better understanding of the safety of AB-2004 in adolescents with autism by checking blood sample results and performing physical exams. Evaluate changes in sleep, quality of life and gastrointestinal issues. 3. AB-2004 is approved for treatment of chronic kidney disease and irritable bowl syndrome in other countries. The experimental treatment is designed to absorb chemicals from the gut and reduce their entry into the blood stream. 4. Expected benefits of AB-2004 include reduced irritability and anxiety.
