Project Description:

The Unified Champions Schools Project entails a 5-year evaluation of the impact of Special Olympic North America's Unified Champion Schools (UCS) program on both proximal and distal developmental outcomes. Proximal effects of program participation that will be monitored over the project will include the social emotional learning outcomes, self-determination capacities, social inclusion, and school performance of program participants with and without IDD. Distal outcomes that will be monitored up to two-years following school completion include involvement in competitive integrative employment and post-secondary education, young adult levels of self-determination, and community inclusion.
