Arkansas UCEDD COVID Vaccine Project

Center:
Fiscal Year:
2023
Contact Information:
Project Description:
This project is intended to provide support for community partners as they respond to the needs of people with disabilities in a global pandemic. Activities will include development, printing and distribution of plain language information on vaccines, as well as support for community-based provider organizations as they provide vaccine clinics to expand the number of vaccinated people in the state. Support will be provided for whatever the organizations say will help increase participation and acceptance of vaccinations, such as lunch for the clinics, additional personnel to give vaccines, gas to travel to other available clinics, PPE, etc. Additionally, there is a need for plain language materials to be translated into Spanish and Marshallese to mee the needs of these commuities who have been hit very hard by COVID-19 because of the multi-generational living conditions and the employment for many of these individuals.
