LAC DMH Parent Partner Training Academy
Project Description:
The LAC DMH Parent Partner Academy will develop 3 levels of training for parent partners (parents who have children receiving or have received publicly funded mental health services). There will be 3 levels of training - 1) Basic Skills, 2) Direct Service, and 3) Mentor/Training. The training is based on recommendations gathered by LAC DMH and is tied to the 11 competencies identified by the Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health and required for national certification. This will be the first standarized curriculum to train parent partner in Los Angeles County.
