Center:
Fiscal Year:
2023
Contact Information:
Project Description:
IHD will serve as the Curriculum Development Lead and will assist AADD to develop the curriculum that will focus on the basic caregiving and home safety skills and will address the informal (unpaid) support needs of aging adults with DD and their caregivers by preserving the family unit to help older caregivers to live safely at home and keep people prematurely out of nursing homes (paid supports). AADD will pilot the curriculum during year two and provide further recommendations and refinements. This two-year program will result in a finalized FCH curriculum that can be adapted or scaled for national use, by way of a fee-based asynchronous online training.
