Project Description:
The Multidisciplinary Diagnostic Team and Comprehensive Referral for Autistic Spectrum Disorders project will continue to screen, diagnose and refer children with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities leading not only to a differential diagnosis, but to a plan of intervention and services for the child and family. The project will be managed by the Section of Women?s Children?s and Family Health within Public Health and funds will be distributed through a single contract. CBAI has recruited, trained and supported Alaskan post-graduate students to meet national training and performance requirements associated with being a Board Certified Behavior Analysts with special emphasis in serving children, youth, and adults with autism. Coursework is taken through Northern AZ University and Florida Institute of Technology, with 1500 hrs of field supervised locally. Each year an average of 6-9 professionals are recruited and admitted to the program. Over the 6 years of funding over 32 full and part-time students have passed the national credentialing exam.
