2.09 GAME - Game On! Developing Accessible Electronic Gaming Options for Texans with Paralysis

Center:
Fiscal Year:
2023
Contact Information:
Project Description:
This project provides for accessible gaming kits in Xbox and PlayStation platforms, mounting kits for the Xbox adaptive controller, and additional switches/controllers to support people with paralysis in decision making for modified gaming. Via grant funding, items are available to 'check out' through TTAP's online loaning database for Texans across the state, with paid shipping to and from consumers. The project ensures those interested in accessible gaming can "try technology before they buy technology." TTAP will also host kit demonstrations at information awareness events such as Texas' two annual Abilities Expos. Additional demonstration sites may include consumer-oriented conferences, increasing awareness of accessible gaming to the general technology population, consumers and vendors.
