FERTALY: Understanding Barriers to Hepatitis C Testing and Disease Surveillance in Montana (ended 4/30/2023)
Project Description:
As part of the CDC-sponsored program to support HCV surveillance, the proposed study will further assess the barriers to antibody testing and confirmatory testing from the perspective of laboratories, hospitals, and people who are at-risk for or who have tested positive for HCV. The study investigators will collect information related to HCV screening and testing, referral processes, barriers and facilitators, and recommendations on how to improve the HCV screening and testing process. The results will be used by MT DPHHS to develop steps to address barriers to HCV testing and treatment. Findings will also be disseminated in multiple formats to key stakeholders including people living with HCV, providers, and policy makers in Montana.
