Project Description:
Diversity Fellowship In 2017 we developed a Diversity Fellowship program through an award from AIDD to increase the diversity of our trainees and future leaders in the field. After the first year with funding, we sustained the program with funding from other projects. The Fellowship provides training and leadership opportunities for historically underrepresented students in disability research, practice, and policy through tiered mentorship consisting of graduate, undergraduate and community college students. The program has two tracks: 1) build capacity in Native communities 2) address issues and build capacity in AZ-Sonora borderlands and Spanish speaking communities
