All the speech-language pathologists and audiologists are certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and are licensed by the New York State Department of Education. The Speech and Hearing Center is also the primary clinical site for the graduate program in medical speech-language pathology at the School of Health Sciences and Practice, New York Medical College (NYMC). The Center provides a full range of services to individuals ranging in age from newborns to senior citizens, and performs over 4500 visits annually. We serve not only individuals with disabilities but the general public. The audiologists specialize in the evaluation, diagnosis and non-medical treatment of both central and peripheral hearing disorders. Services include: comprehensive hearing assessments; full service amplification/hearing aid program ? including digital and programmable aids ? from evaluation and dispensing to counseling and repairs; electrodiagnostic studies (ABR, OAE, and universal newborn/infant hearing screening); electronystagmography (ENG) assessment; auditory processing evaluations; and a cochlear implant program.
