        Project Description:
The purpose of this project is to understand the current or identified barriers, challenges,
and actionable opportunities to improve rates of monitoring and screening in Wyoming as a
result of healthcare office closures and social distancing guidelines that have resulted in
decreased access to services and appropriate information.
This project will focus on engagement of communities and families to develop relevant,
timely high-quality, research-based materials and learning opportunities to improve rates of
developmental screening and monitoring through engagement with a diverse stakeholder team
supporting early intervention services and family supports in Wyoming. The project will rely on
multiple modalities to increase awareness and education about developmental monitoring and
including electronic and hard copy materials dissemination and in-person and synchronous
learning through ECHO, a virtual learning community. The primary aims of the project include
1) coordinated an inter-agency/organization Act-Early led team 2) conduct a statewide needs
assessment 3) develop a strategic plan for engagement and information dissemination and 4)
implement and evaluate the plan. This multi-tiered approach is expected to identify unique
challenges and opportunities in Wyoming to response to the current COVID pandemic and
resulting decreased rates of screening and monitoring.
