Technology-Based Employment for Adults with IDD (TBE)
Project Description:
Summary: The purpose of this project is to provide and evaluate personalized technology job skills building program provided by Daivergent for up to 15 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Daivergent is providing personalized online training for 21st century technology job skills and also offering social skills and peer support programs for each adults with IDD for up to 9 months. The NAU team is completing the research related activities including recruitment, enrollment, completion of qualitative data collection and analysis, and dissemination.
Activities:
Recruitment and enrollment: Provide community presentations and share program with disability serving groups, completed screeners with interested adults with IDD.
Student mentoring: Two NAU occupational therapy doctoral students meet weekly with faculty mentor to plan for and implement research activities; students assisting with coordinating regular meetings with a community advisory board; students providing presentations at scientific conferences.
Interviews: Completing individual interviews with the 15 adults with IDD who received training, any support people involved in helping the adults with IDD access the training, and with Daivergent staff providing the training.
