Project Description:

The Heart of Texas GEAR Up program is a grant project funded through the U.S. Department of Education. The goal of this project is to significantly increase the number of students who graduate from high school, matriculate and succeed in postsecondary education without the need for remediation, and are prepared for careers of their choice. 1078 website users 1360 students have participated in at least 1 GEAR UP activity 181 parents have participated in at least 1 GEAR UP activity 815 students received counseling or advising 158 students received mentoring 776 students participated in a college readiness activity 552 students received tutoring 381 students participated in a career activity 0 families participated in a career activity 4 families participated in a college information activity 36 families participated in a personal visit with GU staff 324 teachers received professional development
