Cuyahoga Valley National Park Ethnographic Study
Project Description:
The project will complete and ethnographic overview and assessment study relating to Camp Muellerat Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CUVA) in Ohio. Large gaps exist in knowledge of the relationship of the Cleveland areas African American Community and the park leading to insufficient interpretive programs focusing on African American history in and near the Cuyahoga Valley. Project partners will examine historical records including archived material in local, regional,and national collections as well as conduct oral interviews with knowledgeable community experts to collect historical ethnographic data. The project partner will analyze the data to determine gaps in the ethnographic data as well as in interpretation of the African American story at the park.
