Behavior Intervention for Families This program is a structured way for parents to learn how to teach their child more positive behaviors and to reduce how often challenging behaviors occur. This, in turn, may improve a child's ability to participate in family, school, and community activities. The program provides a behavioral assessment in which the parent or caregiver and child meet with a behavior specialist and 6-14 sessions with a therapist in which behavior management skills are taught directly to caregivers. Between session assignments are encouraged so that caregivers can practice what they have learned and monitor changes in their childs behavior. Disciplines include psychology, nursing, social work.
