Project Description:
In collaboration with the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority the GU center for Child and Human Development will perform a variety of capacity building, research, and technical assistance activities. The Goal of the activities is to build the capacity of a variety of child serving professionals to serve children and families with evidence--based, contemporary practices. The Objectives of the project include: 1. Create, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive child protection specialist training program 2. Increase the capacity of child protection workers to serve children and families appropriately 3. Create and implement a comprehensive research agenda to determine needs of child serving professionals in building their capacity to serve all children and families in Abu Dhabi 4. Create, implement, and evaluate a specific early intervention training program for those professionals who serve infants, toddlers, and young children with disabilities and/or developmental delays 5. Create and implement a comprehensive research agenda to determine the high risk factors that influence the population health and safety though the life span We expect that this multi-facetted project will assist the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority to build a comprehensive system of care for all children and families in Abu Dhabi.
