Project Description:
CPAP will support VR-eligible individuals with disabilities to advance in high-demand, high-quality careers by developing career pathways focused on career advancement. It will increase the internal and state-system capacity to provide career advancement services that are coordinated, collaborative, and built upon Nebraska career pathways models. CPAP will expand the target population of individuals receiving career advancement services to include: previously served VR clients who receive SSI/SSDI, closed into Low-wage occupations, closed into high-demand sectors with likelihood of growth; past CPAP participants and incumbent workers. It will increase access to postsecondary education and training opportunities that provide the skills and credentials necessary to obtain promotional opportunities with a current employer or a different employer; obtain additional responsibility and compensation by advancing in a formal career or job series. CPAP will strengthen business engagement through contacts with businesses statewide. Increase business relationships and support clients to obtain credentials, increase wages and employer-provided benefits for economic self-sufficiency, and provide for additional satisfaction with employment.
