        Project Description:
The purpose of the work is to provide a platform and content to generate an on-line training program on the topic of disabilities services for health care staff affiliated with the Wind River Cares. The Wyoming Institute for Disabilities at the University of Wyoming (WIND) will develop the training system using existing on-line training platforms, and will utilize its expertise in disabilities advocacy, research, and community outreach to provide content for the training system.
The target audience for the training includes professional clinic staff such as pediatric health care professionals, behavioral health professionals, child shelter care workers, foster parents, family service workers, victim assistance workers, case managers, ICWA and DEC workers, Behavioral Health aides, health educators and justice system personnel (prosecutor/probation).
The overall intent of the training program is to train participants about specific principles, practices, and resources, to understand and provide accommodations and services for children and families with disabilities, to help families and children with disabilities to engage in self-advocacy efforts, improve outcomes for children with disabilities, and to facilitate access to on-going resources.
