2.4.4 Person Centered Employment Planning Training (Day)

FY 2022
The purpose of this training is to develop a pre-employment training model in which students, along with the support of their family members and Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors, establish goals for employment, community inclusion, and independent living throughout the development of a person-centered employment plan. Students will receive support and guidance in career exploration, postsecondary opportunities, job readiness skills, and strategies in self-advocacy.
This live training will be delivered over 2 days. Students will have their peer-led session in one room while the parents/guardians will be in another room for their training. Towards the end of day two they will come together to share each other's plans and create action steps to reach their employment goal.
Support will be provided for those that need assistance filling out online documents during the training. Since the training is held on Fridays and Saturdays, students currently enrolled in school may need support from you to ask their school for authorization to participate in the training during school hours.Accommodation information is provided during registration. Please ensure that your client provides as much information as possible to that we can ensure that the training is accessible for all participants.
