Project Description:
The purpose of the UCAN Assessment Team is to improve differential diagnosis between autism and other neurodevelopment disorders. The team is a diverse group of professionals from different disciplines and agencies throughout Northern Nevada comprised of child psychiatrists, child psychologists, school psychologists, an occupational therapist, speech language pathologists, and a developmental specialist. In Northern and Rural Nevada there are limited options for families seeking ASD diagnostic services, especially those reliant on State Medicaid program. More than 50% of our clients are on Medicaid, many live in the rural areas. Our goal is to provided a quality diagnostic services and personalized follow up referrals and supports. Our clinic if free of charge and provide hundreds of hours of clinical and observation hours for trainees and students within other disciplines.
