Project Description:
Our four-year Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics (DBP) fellowship program, accredited by ACGME and one of 12 funded nationally by HRSA/MCHB, provides intensive training in DD to 2-3 pediatricians per year. The fellowship includes a didactic curriculum, training in clinical practice, teaching, and research. Three fellows are funded through UCD Health, and we have additional funding sources to support faculty efforts for teaching: an Advanced Rehabilitation Research Training Grant (ARRT) in Neuromuscular and Neurodevelopmental Disorders (2011-2021) from the federal Department of Education/National Institute of Disability & Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) and a Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics Training Program Grant (2013-2023) from the US Health Resources and Services Administration, Maternal and Child Health Bureau. Our DBP fellows also participate in the MIND Institutes Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) training program, which has been ongoing since 2016.
