Inclusive Health & Wellness Iowa Initiative (D&H)
Project Description:
CDD will partner with IDPH to build a statewide initiative that will address multiple health topics with a primary emphasis on physical activity, nutrition and obesity for Iowans with mobility limitations and I/DD. CDD will bring together key state and local stakeholders to form a coalition that will participate in the planning, implementation, coordination and evaluation of all initiative activities. CDD will also undertake specific activities as part of a multi-level approach to address the following initiative goals:
Improve Iowa public health system capacity, Build healthy, inclusive Iowa communities, Develop Iowa disability service organization capacity, and Increase Iowa health care provider knowledge and accessibility.
