Arkansas Victim Assistance Academy Initiative
Project Description:
The mission of the Arkansas Victim Assistance Academy is to provide comprehensive, foundational and advanced level training to professionals throughout Arkansas who routinely deal with victims of crime.
This project coordinates with the Crime Victims Assistance Association of Arkansas (CVAAA) Board and an academy steering committee. The project provides an infrastructure for the state effort consisting of dedicated staff time and a financial mechanism to support it. Additional tasks include the coordinating of an academy steering committee to plan, provide and facilitate a week long comprehensive, academically based, fundamental education and training for victim assistance providers, victim advocates, criminal justice personnel, and allied professionals who routinely deal with crime victims and an advanced academy for those already in the field.
