Project Description:
UMKC-IHD will conduct the proposed project to facilitate and enhance coordination across aging and disability agencies and stakeholder groups and to support systematic and timely identification of, and response to, the immediate COVID-19 crisis-related needs. A rapid assessment of ADRC workforce, population and services will be conducted with local and statewide stakeholders identified. Based on the findings, UMKC-IHD will subcontract with Missouri Association of Area Agencies on Aging and Missouri Centers for Independent Living to distribute funds to local AAAs, CILs, and intellectual/developmental disability service providers to support their immediate needs to respond to COVID-19. Missouri Assistive Technology (MoAT) will partner with UMKC-IHD to ensure that all project activities, including the rapid assessment, leverage innovative technology solutions and existing state and local infrastructures. Specifically, UMKC-IHD and MoAT will provide resources, tools, and technical assistance to enhance technology based I&R, navigation/ person-centered planning, social isolation screening, and peer support services provided by AAAs, CILs, Missouri Family-to-Family, and other state aging and disability entities. In addition, Charting the LifeCourse tools and resources will be developed or refined to support local efforts.
