Project Description:
Guam CEDDERS will collaborate with NCEO to develop, implement, and evaluate a virtual convening of the six Pacific entities (American Samoa, CNMI, Guam, FSM, ROP and RMI) on how to use interim assessments to appropriately measure what students with disabilities know and can do. Guam CEDDERS workscope includes collaborative planning, implementation, and evaluation of a Pacific convening by: -Developing a meeting agenda jointly with NCEO. -Collaborating with NCEO to set up meeting platform (e.g., breakout groups) and to provide meeting facilitation. -Communicating with the Pacific entities regarding the convening and disseminating information and materials to them. -Identifying potential meeting participants, inviting those participants, and compiling participant lists including contact information. -Adapting meeting materials that were used for convening or regular states for use with the Pacific entities (e.g., discussion guide, facilitator guide, PowerPoint slides, etc.), and revise as needed, based on NCEO feedback. -Reviewing NCEO publications which address interim assessments (i.e., Using Interim Assessments to Appropriately Measures What Student with Disabilities Know and Can Do: Advisory Panel Takeaways and NCEO Recommendations -NCEO Report 427, Alternate Interim Assessments for Student with the Most Significant Cognitive Disabilities, -NCEO Brief 23, Interim Assessment Practices for Students with Disabilities, -NCEO Brief 22, and The Role of Assessment Data in State Systemic Improvement Plans (SSIPs): An Analysis of FFY 2018 SSIPS - NCEO Report 425), and developing, with NCEO's input and feedback, supplemental materials specific to the Pacific entities needs and context. Objective: Develop, implement, and evaluate a Pacific convening on the use of interim assessments for students with disabilities. Outcome: Entities will have increased understanding and planning on the use of interim assessments for measuring what students with disabilities know and can do.
