Arizona Department of Economic Security (ADES): Skilled Nursing Matrix Project

Project Description:

NAU UCEDD, in collaboration with DDD, will develop a skilled nursing matrix to determine the scope and duration of skilled nursing activities a member's condition requires, and procedures and training to ensure consistent application of the matrix. This will be completed in four (4) milestones. 5.1.1 Milestone One (1): Conduct nationwide research, review, and summarize findings of other skilled nursing matrixes. 5.1.2 Milestone Two (2): Develop and pilot a draft skilled nursing matrix and procedures for interpreting the matrix for use with a Division nursing assessment tool. 5.1.3 Milestone Three (3): Develop a train-the-trainer process for completing the Divisions nursing assessment tool, including a system of maintaining inter-rater reliability. 5.1.4 Milestone Four (4): Monitor initial implementation of the skilled nursing matrix in conjunction with a nursing assessment tool and develop recommendations for improving the matrix and the nursing assessment tool and/or procedures for use.
