Project Description:
The Great Lakes Park Training Institute, formalized in 1947, has been an entity of Indiana Universitys Department of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Studies (and its preceding department units) since its inception. The funding, staffing, liability, standards, and administration of the Great Lakes Park Training Institute have been, and are currently performed by a faculty member who is a Project Manager at the Eppley Institute for Parks and Public Lands. The role, function, and level of involvement of other agencies as supporters of the Great Lakes Park Training Institute have been provided via staff-volunteer time in advisory roles, donation of funds for various purposes, and other in-kind support.
