Project Description:
This project addresses two areas that have been identified by DBHDS as important to their mission and goals for FY 2009. These include:  Continuation and extension of the FY2008 contract for the provision of training for providers of supports and services to increase their skills in PBS and training, mentoring, and endorsement of PBS Facilitators; and  Provision of in-depth training, technical assistance, consultation, and facilitation on person-centered practices using a model approach that builds the capacity of organizations to become more person-centered. PBS Goals include: Goal 1: Increase the number of providers who have knowledge and skills in PBS practices, approaches, and techniques. Goal 2: Increase the number of endorsed positive behavior support facilitator behavioral consultants statewide. Goal 3: Continue evaluation of the training, mentoring and endorsement process. PCP Goals include: Goal 1: Increase the number of organizations that support individuals to live lives of their choosing through the provision of knowledge and skills in PC practices. Goal 2: Increase the number individuals, family members, case managers, residential and day support managers, direct service providers, and others who understand and use person-centered skills. Goal 3: Evaluate training, coaching and leadership processes in each area.
