Project

Promoting the Participation of Individuals with Disabilities in COVID-19 Vaccines

Center:
Fiscal Year:
2022
Contact Information:
Project Description:
Approximately 61 million adults living in the US have a disability, representing approximately 26 percent of the adult population. People with disabilities may have an increased risk for contracting COVID19 based on where they live or the services they receive. There are increasing reports of barriers to participation in vaccines including issues related to access and vaccine hesitancy. This supplement to our UCEDD program is designed to break down those barriers to expand vaccine participation in communities. This project will provide individuals with disabilities and their families with information about the COVID-19 vaccines, address vaccine hesitance with empathy and understanding, and share the personal experiences of individuals with disabilities who have received the vaccine.
