The Impact of Digital Equity on Health Outcomes in Refugee and Immigrant Communities
Project Description:
This project seeks to understand and address the connection between digital equity and health equity for refugee and immigrant populations living in the Historic Northeast in Kansas City area. COVID-19 has exposed disparities in digital equity that are directly affecting all dimensions of health (physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual). Cassie Webb will provide technical assistance to develop and implement culturally sensitive survey and focus/group interview instruments and train Della Lamb staff and volunteers in the use of the instruments. UMKC-IHD will analyze all project data using appropriate software and statistical methods and provide technical assistance in reporting project findings and outcomes. Gerardo Martinez, Director of the Alianzas program at UMKC-IHD, will assist with outreach and recruitment in the Latino community.
