Project Description:
PEP is an evidence-based relationship-centered communication training program designed to help clinical teams meet the unique and evolving demands in providing CF care. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, in partnership with the Academy of Communication in Healthcare, developed the program. Project Staff is a certified trainer for the Partnership Enhancement Program (PEP) and will train clinical teams across the nation. The PEP training course is designed to help CF clinical teams develop the communication skills needed to provide individualized CF care, and be better prepared to meet evolving patient needs, triggered by emerging disease burdens and new therapeutic options. Enhanced communication skills to enhance care - These PEP skills promote a better understanding of a persons perspective of managing their CF. They help teams have conversations about what matters most to them and understand what may be getting in the way of care. Tools for streamlining communication - Communication skills can be learned, and PEP provides simple yet effective tools for practicing those skills. Skills that can be used in multiple settings - The skills learned are universal and can be applied to a variety of personal and professional settings. An opportunity for team building - PEP gives teams an opportunity to immerse yourselves in a learning experience.
